The Public Health Think Tank could not be the same without the support of our advisor, Andrea-Leinberger Jabari. Throughout the years, Andrea has been an integral part of the whole initiative. Not only is she the one in charge of delivering a Public Health Workshop on the day of the event, but she is also part of the planning process before the conference takes place and a guidance for our winning team for the months after the conference.
At NYU Abu Dhabi, she currently holds the title of Assistant Director for Tobacco Research as part of the Public Health Research Center. Results of her studies have been published in more than 15 research papers by various scientific journals. Moreover, her work in the UAE specifically recently covered by The National in an article regarding smoking rates for women in the country.
Before working at NYU Abu Dhabi, Andrea already had experience working in educational institutions. She worked at the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at Rockefeller University, where she was in charge of building bridges between different members of the community to increase engagement across disciplines. Prior to her work here, she worked at the University of Minnesota, where she served as Assistant Director of Community-Engaged Research Programs and as Senior Technical Advisor. Also at the University of Minnesota, Andrea gained a Master of Public Health. Previously, Andrea obtained her B.A. in Anthropology from Arizona State University.
We are very proud to have Andrea involved in the Public Health Think Tank. When you see her at our conference this November, feel free to reach out to her and ask her more about the projects she is involved in!
