It is with utmost pleasure that we announce the second speaker in our conference, Dr. Khalid Malik.
Dr. Khalid Malik is a Consultant Family Physician at the Health & Wellness Center in New York University Abu Dhabi. He has extensive experience in managing patients in a variety of hospital and clinic settings. This was afforded through his work in the University Buffalo in New York, where he served as a Faculty/Clinical Assistant Professor. He also taught at the medical school and was involved in the education and training of Family Medicine students and residents.
In 2010, Dr. Malik was promoted to Associate Program Director and Clinical Chief of UB Family Medicine at a 550 bed tertiary care ECMC hospital. He enjoyed the mix of teaching, clinical, and administrative roles that the position provided. After almost four years there, familial obligations drew him to the United Arab Emirates.
For his talk on the 2nd of November, Dr. Malik will be giving participants an overview of cardiovascular diseases, and providing medical explanations for the major risk factors concerning the issue. His presentation will be partially discussion based, as he is a strong proponent of encouraging critical thinking in students.
