Thank You From Us!

The 2018 Public Health Think Tank brought together students from universities across the UAE to develop grassroots solutions to reduce the impact of cardiovascular diseases, specifically hypertension, in the UAE. The Core Team is grateful for the overwhelming interest that students and universities from across the UAE showed in addressing the issue, which resulted in a remarkable number of applicants to the 2018 edition of the conference — 104 students from across ten universities UAE.

The Core Team would once again like to extend its gratitude to the speakers, judges, team leaders, facilitators, and volunteers who helped make PHTT 2018 possible. We thank the NYUAD Institute, the Office of Student Life, and the Public Health Research Center for funding the event, and Dr. Cother Hajat, Dr. Khalid Malik, Andrea Leinberger-Jabari, Dr. Afzalhussein Yusufali, Dr. Abdul Razzak Alkaddour, Peter Dicce and Jacqueline Jacob, in particular for their invaluable support and advice.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to check out the diverse proposals that the teams at PHTT 2018 devised as well as photos from Day One and Day Two.
